I was born in Eurkea, California but grew up in Redding, CA. I came to Michigan and went to Calvin College where I obtained my bachelors in Biology. I went to medical school in Israel at the Medical School for International Health in Collaboration with Columbia University Medical Center.

Any free time I have I love to spend traveling and experiencing other cultures. I also like to scuba dive and do anything with music.

Columbia, MO is where I was born but I grew up in Jacksonville, IL. I did my undergrad at Truman State University receiving my B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Biology. I went to medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. In any free time I have I like to read, jog, play with my dog Scrappy, and watch lots of movies.

I was born north of the border in Toronto, Ontario but I grew up and finished high school in Hamilton, Ontario (an hour from Toronto). Then my family moved to Holland, MI and I followed them here to go to Calvin College in Grand Rapids where I received my B.S. Biology

Most of my time is spent hanging out with my husband of 3 years (another medical student), Joel, as well as my three sisters. I like outdoor activities--biking, walking, beach volleyball, bags, etc. And if I have the time, I LOVE to read. Currently we are using all our free time fixing up the house we just bought!

I was born and raised in Big Rapids, MI about an hour north of Grand Rapids. I was at Michigan State University for all of my college years obtaining a B.S. in Physiology before going to medical school. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, sports, fishing, exercising, and reading. I grew up on a farm in Big Rapids and like spending time there with my family as well.

I grew up in the small town of Fenton, Michigan on the other side of the State. Undergraduate was at Michigan State University with a major in physiology from Lyman Briggs and medical school was in Detroit at Wayne State University.

My free times is spent traveling to New York where my girlfriend is currently a radiology resident at New York Medical College. I still have season tickets to Michigan State basketball, so I try to sneak away to games as much as I can. Outside of that, I try to enjoy all that Grand Rapids has to offer with restaurants, bars, concerts, and outdoor activities.

I was born in  Franklin, MI, traveled to Princeton for my undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology before returning to Michigan and MSU for my medical degree. In my spare time I love camping, backpacking, cooking, baking, gardening, reading, and playing guitar.

Adam Will, M.D.

Medical School: Indiana University

I was born in Monroeville, IN and attended Indiana State for my undergrad before attending Indiana University from medical school. I love spending time with time with my twin kids Noah and Abigail and my wife Kristin (a pediatrics resident), and I'm really looking forward to meeting the newest addition to our family this September! I also enjoy grilling, gardening, and reading (non-medical when I can). In the long term, I hope someday to get more involved in medical education - teaching seems to run in my family (four sibs who are teachers!).

My name is Belen, and I was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. I attended the Universidad Nuevo Mundo for my undergraduate degree, and Universidad Panamericana for my medical degree. I am now in Grand Rapids, Michigan learning the American medical system, and adjusting to life in the United States.

When I have the spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, going to the movies, reading and dancing.

I grew up in the thumb of Michigan, in a small town called North Branch. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002, the same year my wife and I were married. I attended Wayne State University School of Medicine, having just graduated this past May.

In my free time (when I have it), I enjoy backpacking/hiking, camping, biking, gardening, and hunting. I'm willing to try any outdoor sport as both my wife and I love the outdoors! Last fall we completed a 22 mile backpacking trip through the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula. It was awesome! We are expecting our first child in December and are looking forward to more exciting adventures! :)

Medical School: Eastern Virginia Medical School

I was born in San Antonio, Texas and spent a good portion of my life there. I attended the University of Maryland where I obtained a bachelors in Microbiology before attending Eastern Virginia Medical School where I obtained my Masters in Biomedical Sciences and my Medical Doctorate.

In my spare time I love learning about other cultures. I have been learning to read and write in Japanese, and visiting art museums particularly those with French Impressionism works. Also love music and sang Alto in a medical school A Capella group called Neural Groove. I also play guitar and piano. I can’t wait to explore the arts and culture of West Michigan.

Susan Balmer, M.D.

Growing up in Marquette, located in the upper peninsula of Michigan, I was very active in music. In fact, my other career aspiration for when I'm not on call is I love playing my violin and viola.

My undergraduate degree came from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where I majored in music and chemistry. I then attended Michigan State University, where I graduated with my medical degree.

Medical School: Medical College of Wisconsin

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison for my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and the Medical College of Wisconsin for my Medical Degree. Now I'm receiving my residency training on the other side of the 'big lake'.

When I'm not on call, I enjoy photography/art, cooking and spending time with my twin sister.

I was born and raised in North Carolina, attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergrad., then the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. I enjoy everything outdoors.

Prior to coming to Grand Rapids, I worked as a Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor! :) I now live downtown with the love of my life . my furry, four-legged child, Isabella. Isabella and I are working towards "our" certification for pet therapy so she can help make people feel better, too! :) We miss our warm, saltwater beaches back home, but are very excited about our first "real" winter. :)
