The faculty, residents, fellows, and staff of Spectrum Health, Mercy Health Grand Rapids and GRMEP value inclusiveness and equity of opportunities for diverse learners. We promote attitudes and beliefs to foster faculty members’ and learners’ understanding of self and the diversity of others through curriculum, instruction, research, and focused learning activities. These values guide our internal governance as well as our partnerships with educational institutions and other community agencies. We believe that advocacy for diverse learners and faculty informs instructional, clinical, and policy decisions with the purpose of impacting our learners and the patients and families they will serve.

Residency Program Showcase Event

Location: Michigan State University College of Human Medicine - Secchia Center

Event Date: August 12, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM

Medical students from across the state of Michigan are invited to our showcase event to learn more about our residency programs, connect with Program Directors, and hear from current residents about residency life and living in Grand Rapids. This showcase allows medical students to interact directly with program directors and residents while learn the intricacies of applying to residency programs.

Spectrum Health, Pine Rest and Mercy Health Grand Rapids will have representatives available with information on their programs, as well as available resources for these future residents to connect to the greater Grand Rapids community.  This program is open to all interested medical students, especially those graduating in 2018 and 2019.  We strongly encourage students with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to attend. For more information contact diversity@grmep.org .
