Why I chose to practice in Grand Rapids...

The location of this city is ideal for our families (wife from Cleveland, me from Muskegon and now granddaughter, son in Rockford, IL). This has been a great place to have raised our children (which was part of our reason for coming here in the first place). It has a vibrant, stimulating medical practice environment. I wanted to be involved with teaching and have had a great outlet and support for that. The region has grown considerably. There is excellent housing, an active cultural life and climate is favorable (yes, I like the change of seasons and do well in snow and cold).

Why I chose to practice in Grand Rapids...

Grand rapids is an excellent city in which to raise a family and maintain a busy but flexible practice. Getting around is easy with commutes seldom taking more than 20 minutes. The lakeshore is beautiful, the city offers professional sports, many different concert venues, and ethnically diverse restaurants to give us a lot of variety in our down time. My wife and I both have families close by, and this, admittedly, played a role in our decision to stay here after residency.

The city is just big enough. There are a ton of restaurants, great beer, and you simply cannot beat a Michigan summer. As far as general surgery, there is a great mix of old blood and new and we have great surgeons with many perspectives that mesh well as a unit. Looking forward to spending many productive years in Grand Rapids serving the community.
